GMP Compliant Fluid Bed Dryer with Mixing Function for Pharmaceutical Solid Preparation
The FL Series Fluid Bed Dryer is one of the most widely used process equipment in the production of solid preparations in the pharmaceutical industry. It integrates multiple functions including mixing, granulation and drying.
The equipment operates under a closed negative pressure environment, with a smooth, dead-space-free inner surface that is easy to clean, fully complying with GMP requirements. It is also widely applied in industries such as traditional Chinese and Western medicine, food processing, and chemical manufacturing.
Working Principle
The fluid bed granulator consists of several core modules: the main unit, spray nozzle module, air intake module, exhaust module, and control module.
1. Preparing the Material & Airflow
During operation, raw materials are loaded into the product container. Ambient air is processed through the air intake module, going through primary filtration, intermediate filtration, optional dehumidification, heating, and HEPA filtration before entering the main unit.
2. Fluidization of Materials
The treated air passes through an air distribution plate, which rectifies the airflow into a high-velocity stream. This stream lifts the materials, causing them to become fluidized and suspended in the product container.
3. Spraying & Granulation
Simultaneously, the binding solution is delivered to the spray gun via a peristaltic pump. The atomized solution is continuously sprayed onto the fluidized materials, causing them to bind and grow into larger particles. The process is supported by the continuous flow of hot air, which also dries the materials to form the final granules.
4. Dust Collection & Exhaust
During the granulation process, fine powders carried by the airflow are filtered out by the dust collection bags in the dedusting module. The filtered air is then discharged through the exhaust module.
5. Once granulation is complete, the finished product can be discharged in multiple ways:
Manual discharge
Elevation and inversion for discharge to a milling machine
Elevation and vacuum transfer for closed-line vacuum discharge to a milling machine
